The FTC has announced its agenda and panelists for its conference on data security, which will be held on November 5th, 2015, at the University of Texas, in Austin.

This is the second in a series of conferences aimed at helping small- to medium-sized businesses protect consumers’ information.  The first conference was held in San Francisco on September 9th, and  panelists provided key tips for building a culture of “security by design.”

This conference will focus on how startups can secure their applications. Panels will feature experts from Dell, National Instruments, HackerOne, WhiteHat Security, and other technology companies, and will provide information about (1) building a culture of security; (2) scaling security testing; (3) working with third-party code and bug reports; and (4) embracing key security features. Commissioner Terrell McSweeny will deliver remarks at the event.

The all-day conference will begin at 9:30 am Central.
